There is a section in this site called ETC underneath the jobs section! It contains all of the extras that aren't consistent work. I have seen research studies, sewing projects, you name it! It’s just a few bucks, but every dollar counts!!
A quick scope once a week will help you find gems like this: A new Plasma Donation Center that pays more because it’s trying to establish itself! I am talking 100 per visit, 200 on your second visit, which is what we were going to make for a whole month at Biomat!
There are loads of other opportunities in there, such as CPV screening by UW student doctors, Dental cleaning and xrays by intern Hygenists and Dentists going through dental school, maybe some pet sitting here and there, and of course a handful of studies conducted independently of the research groups you signed up with! It all depends on what you want, what you're willing to do, and what you have time for!
Washington Drive Study
There is currently a study going on that pays 500 dollars per year for up to two years! Their website is http://www.shrp2nds.us/. In this study, they are looking to see what distracts drivers, and how to make roads and cars safer. To enroll, visit the website and click the “Interested in Participating?” icon, fill out their pre-screening questionnaire, and then select the best times to have equipment installed on your vehicle. The equipment consists of a camera filming the driver, that is supposed to be unobtrusive, which takes four hours to install while you complete the rest of the paperwork at the installation site. I signed up about a month ago, but have not received a call yet, apparently they are getting a lot of volunteers for this study...well, duh! 500 bucks to film what you do already?! I’ll get paid for that!!
